4. You can get lean by eating fat
Three quarters of your daily calorie intake on the keto diet should be fat! The good stuff of course. Butter, avocado, coconut oil, cream, all the things that we have been told for years to not eat – and even the skin off the roast chicken and crackle on the pork. Now that your body is in Ketosis and your primary source of energy is fat, you need to fuel it correctly. Take away glucose as your fuel and you need to replace it with something else. So your body turns to fat. They have to be healthy sources of fat though. We are talking fuel like butter and avocados, not Reese’s and Doritos.
5. You’ll wonder if this will work long term
This is the question that keeps running through our minds. And this is why we are undertaking a keto experiment. Eight weeks of eating foods that are high in fat, low in carbohydrates and moderate amounts of protein. It’s pretty simple really. The results we are seeing as we progress are great. So will it be Keto for life for us? We will have to wait and see.
