8. Natural treatments
Not all treatments for vitiligo involve taking complicated drugs, light therapy or surgical procedures. Although they may not receive the support of mainstream physicians, there are a number of natural treatments that have been moderately successful in returning areas of the skin affected by vitiligo to their natural color.
For example, taking the popular herb Ginkgo biloba has reportedly helped return the skin color to what it was prior to a vitiligo outbreak. Others have had success while taking vitamin C and vitamin B-12. Overall, these treatment options are fairly harmless and should present few side effects; nonetheless, it’s a good idea to discuss them with your physician.
